NOVEMBER 19

LUNCH AND LEARN – The Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern Virginia Chapter is hosting a virtual Lunch and Learn Seminar on Risk of Dementia in the Veteran Community on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Please join for this discussion with local experts. The group will learn about Alzheimer’s and dementia and how such risk factors as post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury impact risk for dementia. The program is free, but registration is required. To register, call 1-800-272-3900.

NOVEMBER 20

MOAA MEETING – The MOAA (Military Officers Association of America ) will hold its monthly self-pay luncheon and program Friday, Nov. 20, at 12:30 pm at the Riverside Café, 522 N. Main St., in Farmville. All active, former and retired military officers and spouses/widows are invited to attend. Programs pertain to military interests and issues. Please wear masks except when eating and note that seating for dining and program will be socially distanced.

NOVEMBER 21

HOLIDAY WORKSHOP – A Christmas Holiday Workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Charlotte County Extension Office at 133 LeGrande Ave. in Charlotte Court House. A second workshop make be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. depending on enrollment. The group will be social distancing. Masks are required. The cost for the workshop is $25 per person for materials. The group will be making A Santa and Grinch, a star or tree or a snowman. For more information or to register call (434) 542-5884. Pre-registration is required. The workshop is for all ages including adults. Children 5 to 8 will require adult supervision.

STEW AVAILABLE – A fundraiser for the Charlotte Learning Center will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9:30 until at Keysville Auto Parts. Buy some stew and help some students. The preparedness homegrown class is raising money for the winter unit of hydroponics. The cost is $7 per quart and preorders are encouraged. The stewmaster will be Butch Shook. DECEMBER 3

SOYBEAN AND WHEAT PRODUCTION – A soybean and wheat production meeting will be held Thursday, Dec. 3 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Registration is at 9 a.m. with the meeting beginning at 9:30 a.m. Face coverings are required for all participants. A zoom link is available for those who wish to attend virtually. GAME NIGHT – Come to the Gathering Place at 6 p.m. on the first and third Friday of each month for Game Night. Food is provided at this fun-filled family affair. The Gathering Place is located at Grace Community Church, located in Charlotte Court House next to Dollar General and across from the ball field. 

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING – The Charlotte County of Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at the Keysville Fire Station located at 500 Osbourne St behind Burger King at 3 p.m. Any questions, contact Dan at (434) 210-8383.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST – Beautiful Plain Baptist Church will hold services the second and fourth Sundays at 11 a.m. at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST – Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe will hold in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

LEBANON UNITED METHODIST  Until further notice Lebanon UMC on Crofton’s Gate Highway in Drakes Branch will be holding in-person worship at 11 a.m. on the first and third Sundays of the month. Masks are required to attend.

CHARLOTTE COURTHOUSE UNITED METHODIST  Until further notice Charlotte Courthouse UMC will be holding in-person services at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Masks are required to attend. Services will also be broadcast on Facebook Live.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH – Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH – Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Rd., in Brookneal will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH  St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen will hold worship service the first and third Sundays at 11 am. Sunday School will be the first, second, third, and fourth Sundays at 9:45 am until further notice. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.
